Bennion Scholars

Bennion Scholars apply their academic interests to meet a real social concern through a Capstone Project with a Community Partner and Faculty Mentor. Courage and optimism sustain Scholars’ endeavors to learn through inclusive collaboration on projects that support and develop innovative action within all communities. Bennion Scholars stand out as leaders who strive to impact their communities for the better.


While we accept applications on a rolling basis, we follow the priority due dates below:

Fall Semester: April 1st

Spring Semester: November 1st

Lexi Kaili's Project

Lexi created a one-year and a five-year strategic plan for the nonprofit Fish for Garbage.





Keely created a high school to college mentorship program to support diverse students interested in pursuing nursing.



Civil Engineering & Urban Ecology


Bryan helped develop an affordable housing plan for the Latinx population in Chicago.
