February saturday service projects

Bags to Beds

Time: 9 am – 12:30 pm

About: 20 volunteer spots. Volunteers will create “Plarn” (plastic yarn) to be made into mats for individuals experiencing homelessness.

Address: 200 S. Central Campus Drive Room 101

Age requirements: none

Other notes: Feel free to bring any plastic grocery bags of your own if you have them.

crossroads urban center

Time: 9 am – 12:30 pm

About: 8 volunteer spots. Volunteers will assist with cleaning projects as well as breaking down bulk food into smaller servings for clients.

Address: 347 S. 500 East

Age requirements: Children permitted with an adult and separate registration.

Other notes: Closed-toe shoes required. May want to wear clothing that may become dirty or worn.

crossroads urban center - thrift store

Time:  9 am – 12:30 pm

About: 8 volunteer spots. Volunteers will assist with sorting and stocking of product.

Address: 347 S. 500 East- This group will move to 1385 W. Indiana Street after an orientation.

Age requirements: Children permitted with an adult and separate registration.

Other notes: Closed-toe shoes required. May want to wear clothing that may become dirty or worn.

geraldine king women's resource center

Time:  9 am – 12:30 pm

About: 10 volunteer spots. Volunteers will assist with donation sorting and deep cleaning.

Address: Meet at 888 S. 400 West. Will move to 131 E. 700 S after breakfast, check in, and orientation.

Age requirements: Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age.

Other notes: Closed-toe shoes required. May want to wear clothing that may become dirty or worn.

knitting necessities

Time: 9 am – 12:30 pm

About: 20 volunteer spots. Volunteers will knit hats for populations in need of a warm hat.

pleasure pack delivery service - Center for student wellness

Time: 9 am – 12:30 pm

About: 8 volunteer spots. Volunteers will help prepare "pleasure packs" of safer sex supplies (i.e. condoms, dams, and personal lubricants) and resources to be delivered to students throughout the semester.

Address: The Hub in the Student Life Center (1836 Student Life Way)

primary children's craft kits

Time: 9 am – 12:30 pm

About: 15 volunteer spots. Volunteers will work on craft kits for the waiting rooms at Primary Children’s Hospitals.

Address: 200 S. Central Campus Drive Room 101

Age requirements: Must be at least 12 years of age.

RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE

Time: Please note this project has a timeframe of 7:30-10:30 am

About: 15 volunteer spots. Volunteers will make and serve breakfast to families staying at the Ronald McDonald House

Address: 935 E. South Temple

Age requirements: Must be 18 or older

Other notes: Must bring valid identification to volunteer with this project.

youth resource center

Time: 9 am – 12:30 pm

About: 10 volunteer spots. Volunteers will assist with donation sorting and deep cleaning.

Address: 888 S. 400 West.

Age requirements: Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age.
