Students Lead Service for Primary Children's Hospital

This fall we kicked off the school year with a service project in the Lowell Bennion Community Center in September. Twenty-one volunteers came together to chat, eat, and most importantly, to compile craft kits for the patients at Primary Children’s Hospital. We exercised our cutting and counting skills as we prepared about 75 craft kits for 4 different art projects. The playroom is now equipped with paper plate unicorns, fluffy ghosts, paper bag monsters, and fleece octopi to both bring to patients in their rooms or for them to come down to the playroom and create their work of art there.

At the service project we had an unproportionate representation of high school students who were not involved with Primary Children’s Hospital, which was a great opportunity to tell them about all the ways they can volunteer there in the future to keep the program alive and thriving. I’d like to extend a huge thank you to the volunteers who came out to help and the staff at the hospital who work with us to succeed in our service efforts!
