8th Annual Legacy of Lowell Community Service Day
The Kick-Off for Homecoming & the first Saturday Service Project of the Year
Saturday, September 24: 8:30 am to noon
Legacy of Lowell serves as the kick-off to the U’s Homecoming Week. More than 1,000 volunteers from the community will participate in more than 20 various service projects in Salt Lake City. Service projects encompass all aspects of community engagement, including creating dental hygiene kits, helping with ecological restoration and making quilts for refugees. Volunteers do not need to pre-register, just simply arrive at Mountain View Elementary School (1380 S. Navajo St) at 8:30 AM and choose a project to get involved in.
7:30-8:00 Buses leave the U of U. Buses will load at 7:30AM and leave promptly at 8:00AM from Greek Row, LDS Institute, Union Building, and Heritage Center.
8:00-9:00am Registration to choose your project, Information and Light Breakfast at Mountain View Elementary (1380 S. Navajo St), Transportation to Sites
9:00-11:00am Service Projects: We have 24 projects to choose from. Click here for a grid of the project descriptions, locations, transportation and what to bring.
11:00-11:15pm Transportation to Mountain View Elementary (1380 S. Navajo St)
11:15-12:00pm Lunch, Reflection and Closure
